SHORE UP! is a Community Action Partnership whose mission is to aid and empower individuals and families to become economically self-sufficient.

SHORE UP! envisions a community where individuals and families have the opportunities and resources to live with dignity, achieve their fullest potential, and maintain long-term independence.

SHORE UP!'s Office of Home Energy Programs (OHEP) helps qualified individuals and families who reside in Wicomico, Somerset, and Worcester counties by providing assistance with: home heating bills, electric bills, and protection from utility turn-offs. The amount and frequency of assistance varies based on program criteria and customer eligibility. All payments are made directly to fuel suppliers or utility companies.

To accomplish these objectives, SHORE UP!'s OHEP office utilizes the Maryland Energy Assistance Program (MEAP), the Electric Universal Service Program (EUSP), and the Utility Service Protection Program (USPP). Customers can also be eligible for no-cost weatherization and energy-efficiency services.

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Wilmington

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Wilmington is a faith-based, social services organization, delivering critical direct care human services to over 100,000 individuals and families residing in Delaware and the nine counties of the Eastern Shore of Maryland, regardless of their religion, race, or ability to pay.

Today’s programs include basic needs services like financial coaching and case management support for those at risk of homelessness, emergency financial grants for rent and utility payments in arrears that threaten permanent housing, food distribution programs, and thrift centers; behavioral health services including routine and intensive outpatient counseling, addiction recovery support, anger management, domestic violence intervention, and pregnancy counseling; immigration help; the only residential maternity home in Delaware for young women, Bayard House; an adult emergency shelter, Casa San Francisco; subsidized rental housing for seniors, Marydale Retirement Village; and a multi-purpose center in Princess Anne MD, Seton Center. We are the statewide administrator for the Delaware Low Income Home Energy Program, the Delaware Weatherization Assistance Program, and the Delaware Pre-Weatherization Assistance Program.
